Adorable bookplates

I came across the Pink Loves Brown site today and had to pass it on. I love the idea of bookplates, but have never puchased them for myself. I've given them as gifts before, although sometimes my less bookish friends look at them not really understanding what they are until I explain it to them. And then there is always a look of understanding and a "Hey, that's a great idea!" that follows the explanation. I think most people just write their names on the inside of the book cover and then don't think about it again. But these deserve a second look. I can't wait to buy my own set. Ex Libris - if you're reading, these are especially for you!
Right now I'm reading Vienna Prelude by Bodie Thoene mentioned in an earlier post. It's the first in a series that I have read twice before and I am loving every minute of it. Alternating between Berlin, Vienna, and Prague during WWII, it's a mesmerizing read. I was happy to stumble across the books again at my local library.

I've also started Alan Brennert's Moloka'i and found myself sucked in after the first chapter. I can't wait to get some more of it read tonight. I really do need to update the "What's On My Nightstand" links to the right of my blog posts. Most of those have already come and gone!

My Mom read Molok'ai and loved it. It now sits on my bookshelf with all the other "TBR" books! Can't wait to see a review on your site.

I love bookplates - but like you I tend to give them to others as gifts and end up with none myself!

I love your blog! I love bookplates... I found some at an antique store last year and have been using them on my favorite classics... Definately love your blog!

I followed the link and I'm glad that I did. Their bookplates are so pretty! I need to order some. Although, I don't use bookplates as I should. I actually use them as bookmarks because I look and shape of the ones I own.

I'm going to have to check out Molok'ai. I've read nothing but good things about it.

BTW - did you get published again in Elle (as a juror)? I hope so! I'm crossing my fingers that I see my name :)

I've been wanting some personalized bookplates for awhile - I think I'll be putting that on my holiday wishlist this year. The ones you linked to are so pretty - I love the one about chocolate, haha.

Hi, I searched my own blog on technorati and found that you have linked me. So I have reciprocated. :)

Moloka'i caught my attention at the bookstore as well but I wasn't sure how it reads until I read your post. I'm looking for fiction set in Hawaii as I'm heading there this fall. I'll for sure check it out!
